Owners,Sacco of bus involved in Londiani accident to be charged

, NAIROBI,Kenya,Oct 10-Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet says that owners and Sacco of bus involved in Londiani accident will be charged with operating outside licensed hours.

The directors of the killer bus who are being sought by police to be charged include the Managing Director Cleophas Shimanyula and Benard Shitiabai.

The Home Boys bus that was travelling from Nairobi to Kakamega on Wednesday morning had over 60 passengers on board.

Rift Valley Provincial traffic officer Zero Arome confirmed that no other vehicle was involved in the dawn accident.

The bus is reported to have plunged into a valley at tunnel area,along Londiani-Muhoroni road.

In December last year,NTSA banned night travel following series of accidents that had claimed many lives over the festive season.

The ban was however petitioned by human rights activist Okiya Omtatah and High court judge Chacha Mwita temporarily suspended it.

This accident has once again awoken the debate on night travel ban by Kenyans on Social Media platform with some of them calling on the enforcement of the ban while others think it will bring inconveniences.
