NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 11 – Legendary musician Joseph Kamaru who died last week will be buried on Thursday at his Kaharati farm in Murang’a County.
The funeral service will be attended by several leaders, including President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The late Kamaru who started his career in 1956, was one of the most popular musicians in the 1980s with his vocals rising to become a signature tune in most music stores.
The vibrant performer wowed audiences with his lyrics, that spoke to morality and life which informed, entertained and celebrated the Kikuyu culture.
The popular Kikuyu musician died on October 3 at MP Shah Hospital in Nairobi where he was receiving treatment.
