NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 16 – A Kenya Defence Forces soldier is among three suspects who were Monday night arrested in a kidnap incident within Eastleigh, Nairobi.
According to Nairobi Police Boss Joseph Ole Tito, suspects who included a University student had held three people in a private car and demanded money from their relatives before releasing them.
“They were a total of five kidnappers, but we managed to arrest three. Among the three, one was a KDF officer and another was a student from the Methodist University,” he stated.
He pointed out that police were alerted and pursued the car up to Eastleaigh section three where they were arrested.
He however stated that those who had been held were released.
On Sunday, a NIS officer based in Wajir was arrested in the same area over claims he had an illegal gun and drugs.
Earlier, a police officer was arrested over kidnap in Kayole.
