, MIGORI, Kenya, Oct 8 – Migori County residents have been assured of a free, fair and transparent election as voters cast their ballots Monday in the senatorial by-election.
This is according to IEBC Commissioner Abdi Guliye who said that they have put in place all mechanisms to ensure that the election is conducted in a free transparent and fair manner.
He assured that voting materials had been dispatched to various sub-county tallying centers from where they were dispatched to various polling centers.
Guliye urged the residents to come out in large numbers and vote for a leader of their choice according to the Constitution.
While speaking to press at the county tallying center at Migori Teachers College, Nyanza Regional Police Coordinator Leonard Katana, assured the residents of adequate security during the entire exercise.
He asked residents to give security personnel an easy time in conducting their duties, saying whoever will be found going against the election laws and regulations will be dealt with in accordance with the law.[cresta-social-share]
