10 Al Shabaab militia killed by KDF soldiers in Lamu

, NAIROBI, Kenya, Sept 24 – Ten Al Shabaab militants were on Monday killed by the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) in Taksile area, Lamu County.

According to military spokesman Paul Njuguna, three soldiers were injured in the early morning operation and are currently receiving medical treatment.

“Today, at around 06.45am, Kenya Defence Forces soldiers operating in Lamu County launched an attack on Al Shabaab Militants in the area of Taksile, North of Pandanguo,” he stated.

Njuguna stated that the militia who escaped with injuries are being pursued and asked the locals to share any information they may have with security officials.

“Following the incident, 10 Al Shabaab militants were killed. The soldiers also recovered seven AK 47 rifles and assorted ammunition. The soldiers are in pursuit of other militants who escaped with injuries.”

He urged them to play their part in weeding out such elements in their midst.
