NAIROBI, Kenya, May 16 – Police have assured Mombasa residents of maximum security during the Holy Month of Ramadhan which starts on Wednesday.
Coast Regional Police Commander Noah Mwavinda said police are on high alert to ensure there will be no security hitch.
He said places of worship will have adequate security officers during this period.
The police boss says vital installations, institutions of higher learning, tourist sites, shopping malls, social places will be manned round the clock.
“We as the police have put in place adequate measures to ensure that there is enough security during the start of the Holy Month of Ramadan. I would like to warn anyone who would want to cause mayhem that we are on the alert,” he said.
His assurances come amid reports of possible attacks by Al-Shabaab during this period.
