, NAIROBI, Kenya, May 25 – The Kenya Magistrates and Judges Association has written to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) seeking information on the whereabouts of Malindi Senior Resident Magistrate, Corilus Osero Nyawiri.

Secretary-General Derrick Kuto said in a letter dated May 24, 2018 to the anti-graft body that the association was reliably informed that EACC officers were holding the missing magistrate.

Kuto asked EACC to confirm whether indeed Nyawiri was being held by its detectives and if so, what actions the agency wanted to take against him.

KMJA claims it has information that the Malindi Senior Resident Magistrate was driven away from Malindi on Wednesday May 23, 2018 by people believed to be EACC officers.

The officers are alleged to have indicated that the magistrate would be arraigned at Milimani Law Courts, Nairobi, the following morning on suspicion of corrupt deals.

Capital FM News cannot independently verify the whereabouts of the magistrate and if his disappearance has been reported to the police.

Kuto said Osero’s mobile phone went off and he has remained unreachable since the incident, causing panic and anxiety to the family and the association.
