, NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 15 – Strathmore University don Fredrick Onyango Ogolla who was arrested over the death of his wife on New Year’s Eve has been released on bond.

Judge Luka Kimaru freed the university lecturer on a bond of Sh100,000 after the prosecution requested for two more days to conclude the ongoing probe.

In the meantime, Ogolla has been ordered to present himself before the Directorate of Criminal Investigations homicide section later Monday to assist police with further investigations.

According to a post-mortem report filed in court, the deceased’s cause of death at their Lavington home could have been a stroke.

State Counsel Catherine Mwaniki informed the court that the doctor had been taken for a toxicological assessment to rule out any inducement.

“We want to find out whether there could have been any omission on the part of the suspect,” stated Mwaniki.
