President Kenyatta dispenses with the business of naming Cabinet

President Kenyatta has concluded with the business of naming his Cabinet for his second term/PSCU

NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 26 – President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday named his full Cabinet where he announced the nomination of former Public Service Commission Chairperson Margaret Kobia to head the Ministry of Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs, moved former Foreign Affairs CS Amina Mohammed to the Education docket and former Water CS Eugene Wamalwa to the Ministry of Devolution.

In an live broadcast from State House, Nairobi, President Kenyatta nominated former DPP Keriako Tobiko to head the Environment and Forestry Ministry, former Meru Governor Peter Munya to head the newly created Ministry of East African Community and Northern Corridor while former Marsabit Governor Ukur Yattani will take up the Labour docket.

Former Public and Gender CS Sicily Kariuki takes over the Health docket, former Foreign Affairs PS Monica Juma has been promoted to head the MFA Ministry as Royal Media Services Chief Operating Officer Farida Karoney makes her public service debut as the CS, Lands Ministry.

Former Turkana Senator John Munyes has been nominated to head to the newly created Ministry of Petroleum and Mining while former ODM Youth Leader Rashid Achesa Mohammed takes over the Sports and Heritage docket.

Simon Chelugui has been nominated to the Water and Sanitation Ministry and Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju “has been co-opted into the Cabinet on a need-by-need basis.”
