MOMBASA, Kenya, Jan 17 – The government has provided a Sh100 million infrastructure grant to Mama Ngina Girls Secondary School in Mombasa to relocate it to Shimo La Tewa area.
In a letter, Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang informed the school administration that the move would allow expansion.
“You are however instructed to insure that government procurement procedures are strictly adhered to,” the letter reads.
Speaking during the issuance of the grant, Acting Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi stated that the relocation will enable the school accommodate more students by January next year.
On a visit to the institution, he said the government has already demarcated the new site that will accommodate more students.
Matiangi stated that Mama Ngina School which has a population of 700 students will offer both day and boarding facilities.
