Miguna wants NASA, NRM de-linked after Raila swearing-in outrage

NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 11 – Confusion over the decision leading to postponement of the swearing-in of NASA leader Raila Odinga has taken a fresh twist after the National Revolution Movement disowned the announcement made by NASA principals.

Former Nairobi Governor aspirant Miguna Miguna, who is the self-declared ‘General’ of the Opposition coalition revolutionary wing, urged NASA supporters to ‘remain focused and calm as NRM will give a way forward in the next day or so.’

The vocal Opposition activist seems to be reaching out to dejected NASA supporters as he noted that it was the coalition which announced the postponement and not NRM.

“Most Kenyans are seeking justice. They are NOT concerned about “leadership structures.” @CoalitionNASAKe is a coalition of political parties whose primary aim is getting power through the ballot. The NRM is a revolutionary MOVEMENT. Thank you,” Miguna wrote as he responded to queries on his Twitter handle.

He further called on coalition principals Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula to de-link the two entities.

According to the NRM ‘General’, the split will allow the NASA coalition, which is the political wing to pursue dialogue as NRM leads on the revolution front.

“To @RailaOdinga, @MusaliaMudavadi and @skmusyoka : The time to DELINK #NRM and @CoalitionNASAKe is now. Let @CoalitionNASAKe pursue dialogue as #NRM leads the revolution. Those in support shout “AYE!” he said in the message posted on Twitter.

NASA Principal and ANC Leader Musalia Mudavadi announced on Sunday that the inauguration has been postponed and that the opposition team will announce a new date for the ceremony.

This led to an outpouring of message among NASA supporters who expressed their disappointment and anger after NASA called off the planned inauguration as the ‘People’s President’ which was slated to coincide with Kenya’s Independence Day celebrations.
