NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 23 – Motorists using Ngong Road from City Mortuary Roundabout to the Kenya National Library are being urged to use alternative routes as that section will be temporarily closed from Friday to facilitate the ongoing works of dualling the road.
According to the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA), the closure will affect those accessing the road at City Mortuary roundabout via Valley Road.
Motorists using Argwings Kodhek Road have been advised to access Ngong Road through Ralph Bunche Road, likewise, those using Ngong Road to access Argwings Kodhek and Valley Road are to use Ralph Bunche road too.
Ngong Road is being upgraded in three phases and phase one, which is almost complete, runs from Kenya National Library to Ring Road junction.
Phase two of the project will run from Ring Road junction to Dagoretti Corner while the third phase starts from Dagoretti Corner to Karen Shopping Centre.
Japanese contractor World Kaihatsu Kogyo Limited is building the road at Sh1.4 billion.
