Bible used to swear-in Uhuru was used by his father, Jomo Kenyatta

NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 28 – The bible used to administer the oath of allegiance and due execution of Office to Uhuru Kenyatta is the one that was used to administer oath to the First President of Kenya, Jomo Kenyatta.

Uhuru Kenyatta took the oath that was administered by the Chief Registrar of the Judiciary Anne Amadi while laying his hand on the 2010 constitution which was promulgated in Uhuru Park.

“The official bible that was used for swearing in ceremony today is the one that was used by the first President of the Republic of Kenya at independence and the constitution used is the one we promulgated in 2010,” stated Master of Ceremony Peter Wanjohi.

President Kenyatta took the oath and pledged to uphold the Constitution and rule justly.

Deputy President William Ruto was sworn after Kenyatta took his oath.

Ruto swore to duly execute his functions in the Office of the Deputy President with diligence.

Both the oaths were administered CRJ Anne Amadi under the watch of the Chief Justice David Maraga.

Kenyatta and Ruto signed their respective oaths in the presence of nine Heads of State and Government as well as over 60,000 Kenyans at the arena.
