NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 12 – President Uhuru Kenyatta Thursday formally received former Kajiado Governor David Nkedianye who has now joined the Jubilee Party.

The former governor was accompanied by a team of other leaders who vied for various political positions on an ODM ticket in Kajiado County.

The team which joined Jubilee included Daniel Tinaayai who vied for the Kajiado senatorial seat, Joseph Simel who vied for Kajiado West parliamentary seat and Esther Somoire who lost to Janet Teiyaa of Jubilee in the race for the Kajiado Woman Representative position.

President Kenyatta received the Kajiado leaders to Jubilee at a meeting attended by Deputy President William Ruto at State House, Nairobi. He thanked the former Kajiado Governor and his team for joining Jubilee, a party focused on uniting the country and lifting the lives of all Kenyans.

“There is need for us to work together to improve the lives of Kajiado residents and all Kenyans,” said President Kenyatta.

Former Governor Nkedianye pledged to work with Governor Joseph ole Lenku for the benefit of the residents of Kajiado.

Nkedianye vowed to use his network of grassroots leaders to mobilise votes for the President in the October 26 fresh presidential election, saying the country has witnessed unprecedented development under the Jubilee administration.

Deputy President Ruto said following his meeting with Kajiado leaders, they have agreed to shelve their differences and work together to accelerate development and improve service delivery to the residents.

Kajiado Governor Lenku said they have sat and agreed as Maasai leaders to join hands in the search for a lasting solution to problems facing Kajiado residents.

“Kajiado is very dynamic. We are bringing everybody on body and we assure you that Kajiado is solidly behind Jubilee,” said Governor Lenku.
