Traffic snarl-ups expected as Nairobi show gets underway

NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 2 – Motorists are being urged to fully cooperate with police officers as a traffic snarl up is expected as a result of the Nairobi International Trade Fair that kicks off Monday.

Nairobi Traffic Commandant Peter Ndungu told Capital FM News that “traffic officers have been deployed in various areas across the County to ensure smooth flow of traffic.”

He stated that motorists should expect traffic flow to be especially heavy along Ngong Road during this the period due to the fair.

Security has also been beefed up in Nairobi ahead of the start of the event.

The seven day event which has registered over 300 local and 120 international exhibitors and runs until Sunday will offer an opportunity for services and products to be displayed.

It will also offer show visitors an opportunity to meet people from different countries and backgrounds, hence creating a platform for interaction and exchanging of ideas and experiences.

It is the largest Trade Fair in the East African Region.
