NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 13 – A Turkish Airlines plane that took off from Mombasa for Istanbul was forced to make an emergency landing Friday morning after developing mechanical problems on take-off.
Coast Regional police boss Larry Kieng stated that they quickly mobilised for emergency services when the plane with 121 passengers on board developed a mechanical fault.
He stated that all passengers have been safely evacuated.
It is believed that the plane sucked a bird into one of its engines before circling to burn fuel and then returning to the Mombasa Moi International Airport for a landing.
