NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 13 – The government has closed Uhuru Park to the public from Friday to facilitate preparations for this year’s Mashujaa day celebrations set to take place next week.
In a statement, National Celebrations Steering Committee Chairman Karanja Kibicho stated that this is due to the closure of the traditional venue Nyayo National Stadium, which is currently under renovation.
According to the Nairobi county government, various preparations for the forthcoming celebrations have been underway for the past few weeks.
