Lawyer seeks removal of Supreme Court Judge Njoki Ndung’u

NAIROBI, Kenya, Sep 30 – A lawyer has filed a petition seeking the removal of Supreme Court Judge Njoki Ndung’u for allegedly displaying negative attitude towards her colleagues during her final detailed ruling.

Apollo Mboya in the petition dated September 29 to the Judicial Service Commission has said Ndung’u displayed lack of courtesy and civility towards her colleagues on the bench.

The petitioner has also accused Ndung’u of exhibiting lack of professional competence during the presentation of her ruling.

In her dissenting ruling, Ndung’u who disagreed with her colleagues was categorical that there were no irregularities and illegalities that warranted for the August 8 elections to be declared null and void.
