NAIROBI, Kenya, Sep 30 – Governors and their deputies are expected to retreat to Mombasa for five-day induction with the intention of strengthening devolution.
According to the Council of Governors Director of Communications, Andrew Teyie, the conference scheduled to begin from October 2 to 6 at the Sarova Whitesands is meant to orient the 25 newly elected governors and their deputies on how to run the devolved system as well as assess the successes and failures of the pioneer regional governments.
The 22 re-elected county bosses and their deputies will also get an opportunity to share their experiences during their first term.
The theme of this year’s conference will be “better governance and accountability for the ultimate devolution dividends to all Kenyans”.
