NAIROBI, Kenya, July 29 – Nairobi gubernatorial candidate, Miguna Miguna has been dealt with a major blow after his running mate, Karen Wangenye pulled out.

Wangenye made the announcement at a press conference on Saturday, citing poor working relationship with the outspoken lawyer.

“I have stepped down because of poor working relationship with my candidate, I believe in teamwork, if there is no teamwork, we cannot achieve what we are setting out to deliver to Nairobians,” she said.

Wangenye however, hailed Miguna’s manifesto, but warned that it is not easy to implement it.

“I believe that our manifesto is exactly what Nairobi needs but we cannot deliver on it if we do not have team work,” she said.

Miguna dumped his first running mate, James Gathungu, in June before replacing him with Ms Wangenye.

The Nairobi gubernatorial race features the incumbent, Evans Kidero, Nairobi Senator, Mike Mbuvi Sonko and the former Gatanga lawmaker, Peter Kenneth.
