NYERI, Kenya, May 10 – A prison constable was found dead with a stab wound early Wednesday morning a few meters away from King’ong’o G.K. prison.
Officer-in-Charge Patrick Isaboke who also serves as an Assistant Commissioner for Prisons confirmed the incident saying the deceased had a stab wound in his neck which was likely to have caused his death.
Isaboke described the deceased constable as a responsible officer who worked for the prisons department for a period of two years.
He however stated that details regarding the constable’s death remain scanty adding that investigations into the incident are being carried out by the police.
The body of the deceased was moved to the Nyeri Referral Hospital by the police for a post-mortem.
The identity of the Constable has been withheld as the family is yet to be notified.
