NAIROBI, Kenya, May 22 – Governors from all the 47 counties were meeting on Monday to elect new officials.
During the meeting, the current Chairman Peter Munya will also deliver the State of Devolution Address to the nation.
Following his speech, the new Council of Governors leadership will be unveiled after Munya’s two-year term.
Munya is the second chairman of the council, after Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto.
The new chairman replacing Munya will only serve for two months unless he is re-elected as Governor in the August Elections.
