NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 26 – Supporters of Kabete Member of Parliament Ferdinand Waititu have welcomed what they term as a resounding victory for their candidate during Tuesday’s Jubilee Party primaries.

Those who spoke to Capital FM News after Governor William Kabogo conceded defeat says the legislator is equal to the task while lauding his team, which they say it is set to scale Kiambu County to greater heights.

”He is our choice and we are proud of him,” an elated Grace Muthoni said.

Another added that “Waititu might not be the best person but is team will grow Kiambu County.”

For Mercy Nyaguthii, “the elections were free and fair and even if they are repeated a hundred times, he shall win it.”

Other termed it as a “revolution” against poor leadership.

Governor Kabogo cited malpractices during the exercise, but Waititu’s supporters say that is the true will of the people which would be the same even if the nominations were to be repeated.

“I wish Waititu well and to the people of Kiambu, it was worth it,” Kabogo said.

Kabogo in his concession speech said he had already petitioned the Jubilee Party over an alleged Monday night incident that involved Waititu and a few polling officers, who were however not posted to any of the stations.

He also told the media that there was an unnamed individual who did not want him in the race.
