MOMBASA, Kenya, Mar 11 – Anti-terrorism police officers are holding six terror suspects in Malindi.
A Contigent of special units raided two houses on Friday night arrest the six who are suspected of funding the Al Shabaab terror group.
“Five people arrested last night in Shella, Malindi and seven mobile phones recovered, and one other person arrested in a house in Majengo, Malini. All held for several suspicious cash transfers to individuals linked to Al Shabaab in Somalia,” Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet told Capital FM News.
According to police the suspects are part of a terror network behind the recruitment of youth to join the Al Shabaab militant group.
The suspects include women believed to be targeting young girls who are lured to cross over to Somalia to become Al Shabaab brides.
