Seed aside, churches must be allowed to flourish: Uhuru

President Kenyatta said churches played an important role in the country and should not be stopped from providing spiritual nourishment so long as they don’t engage in activities that break the law/PSCU

TAITA TAVETA, Kenya, Mar 11 — President Uhuru Kenyatta has cautioned the Attorney General against declining to register churches.

This comes after the office of the Attorney General had registered concern over the high number of unregulated, mushrooming churches.

And after several reports that raised the red flag on some of the activities going on in churches with the intent to defraud.

But addressing the citizenry at a rally in Voi town on Saturday, President Kenyatta insisted that failing to register churches amounted to an infringement on the freedom of religion.
