Muraguri, Nduati among 12 Principal Secretaries moved in reshuffle

Muraguri has in recent days been at the centre of controversy at the Ministry of Health/FILE

NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 31 – Principal Secretary Nicholas Muraguri has been moved from the Ministry of Health to the Lands Ministry in a reshuffle by President Uhuru Kenyatta affecting 11 other Principal Secretaries.

His position has been taken up by Julius Korir who moves from Industry Enterprise Development to Health.

Other ministries affected include Defence with PS Peter Kaberia moved to Sports Development, Devolution PS Mwanamaka Mabruki has been moved to Gender Affairs, while Zeinab Hussein will now be in charge of Irrigation from Gender Affairs.

President Kenyatta has also given Saitoti Torome greater responsibility in Defence from Planning and Statistics while Wilson Irungu takes over his former docket.

Dr Paul Mwangi has been moved from Public Works to Transport while Amb Richard Ekai has been moved from Sports Development to Correctional Services.

In a statement, State House Spokesperson Manoah Esipisu explains that the move is set to improve the efficiency of public service delivery to Kenyans.

“In the continuing endeavour by the Jubilee Administration to improve the efficiency of public service delivery to Kenyans, His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta has deemed it necessary to make changes to the organisation of government,” he stated.

“The President has purposed the changes to enhance teamwork and to improve the accountability for results in the execution of the Government’s responsibilities.”
