Two people killed in Kisumu land dispute

NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 21- Two people have been confirmed dead, after their houses were burnt down in Kisumu over land disputes at KanyaKwar area.

Another person is admitted to hospital with serious machete cuts according to police.

Kisumu County Police boss Titus Yoma says tension remains high in the area, though several officers have been deployed to restore normalcy.

Already investigations have been launched in a bid to arrest the culprits behind the Saturday morning attack.

Land disputes in the area are on the rise despite the National Land Commission moving in to resolve the disputes.
