MP rushed to hospital after collapsing at Parliament buildings

The MP was relaxing at the MPs’ lounge when he collapsed/FILE

NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 17 – Isiolo North MP Joseph Samal on Tuesday afternoon collapsed in Parliament and had to be rushed to hospital.

The first-time lawmaker was relaxing in company of his colleagues at the MPs’ lounge waiting for the commencement of the afternoon’s Special Sitting.

He was rushed to hospital by a St John’s Ambulance.

MPs have been recalled from their recess to consider the nominations of Retired Anglican Church of Kenya Archbishop Eliud Wabukala and Wafula Chebukati as the chairpersons of Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission and the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission respectively.

The MPs are also to consider the names of six persons proposed for the positions of the IEBC Commissioners.
