Machakos gov. Mutua commissions upgrading of Masinga-Kivandini road

MACHAKOS, Kenya, Jan 7 — Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua has commisioned the upgrading of the 20 km Masinga-Kivandini road to bitumen standard.

This is the third key road to be tarmacked by his government since 2013.

Others are the Makutano ma Mwala-Kithimani and the Kathiani-Kakuyuni roads.

Mutua who is also the Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader said he will not be derailed by his opponents to slow his mission of initiating development projects across the county .

“The voters are with me and will not be lured by leaders who have no agenda for the people,” said Mutua.

Speaking at Musingini town in Masinga constituency, Mutua urged the electorate to reject leaders who have failed to honour their development pledges since they were elected.

Mutua said other key roads across the county will also be tarmacked.

He said that his tenure as the Governor had been made difficult by his detractors including Senator Johnson Muthama and a section of MCAs.

“The assembly members were lured to impeach me but their plot flopped, “said Mutua.

At least 30 MCA’s Led by Assembly Majority and Minority leaders Joshua Mwonga and Thomas Kasoa attended  the commissioning of the road project.

Mwonga and Kasoa vowed to mobilise voters to back Mutua’s re-election come this year’s polls.

“He is a transformative and visionary leader, “said Mwonga.

The Governor thanked MCA’s who have stood by his government saying they were gallant sons and daughters of Machakos.

Mutua said his party will popularise its policies across the country and had received thousands of applications from aspirants.
