, NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 11-A four year-old boy who was kidnapped during Thika robbery was on Tuesday night rescued in Kasarani area, as he was being moved to a safer house, according to police.

The kidnappers, who had already demanded for a ransom, were moving the boy to a safer house in Mwiki from Ruaka in Kiambu County, after they realized that their hideouts had been detected.

Head of Flying Squad Saidi Kiprotich says three suspects were arrested during the joint operation between Special Crimes Prevention Unit and the Flying Squad.

Four other suspects had been arrested over the incident, as police moved in to dismantle a kidnapping syndicate operating within Thika area.

The incident occurred on Friday last week after armed gunmen raided their Thika home, demanded some cash before proceeding to kidnap the boy.
