NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 13 – The Employment and Labour Relations Court has ordered doctors and nurses to resume work after declaring their strike illegal.
The order was issued by Justice Hellen Wasilwa who directed union officials to call off the strike immediately.
But the Secretary General of the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Union Ouma Oluga insists that the strike is still on.
He says the strike can only be called off once the government implements the pay deal signed in 2013 awarding them a 300 percent pay increase.
A spot check by Capital FM News at all public health facilities established that the health workers are still on strike.
