KITUI, Kenya, Nov 14 – Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua begun his five day tour of Kitui county to popularise his Maendeleo Chap Chap party.

Mutua who held an interactive forum with residents and leaders of Ikutha Ward in Kitui South constituency was hosted by area MCA Hussein Mwandia.

He said that his party will offer transformative leadership across the country.

“I shared with the residents my personal story of growing up in a poor city slum, which is not different from that of other regular children growing up in rural Kenya,” said Mutua.

He said it was regrettable that more than 50 years since independence, we still have parts of this country experiencing lack of clean drinking water, poor health systems, bad roads and many more issues.

“We need to change the way we do things. We must pursue goals that will increase food production for domestic use, improve the quality of education and focus on creating employment for young people and trade opportunities for many more,” said Mutua.

He said fostering positive growth is what Maendeleo Chap Chap envisions for Kenyans across the length and breath.

Mutua also spoke to traders in Ikutha town on his way to Mutomo where he called on them to support development oriented leaders with the wisdom to help businesses grow.

“That is what Maendeleo Chap Chap stands for, believing that it is possible.

Inawezekana na Itawezekana (it is possible and it will be possible),” said Mutua.
