NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 20 – Four Al-Shabaab militants were killed on Saturday in El-Wak, Mandera County after a combined team of security officers thwarted a planned terror attack against specific high value targets including police camps.

The police officers who were acting on intelligence pursued the militants who had been sighted between Dabacity and Borhole11.

The team tracked the terrorists to Kobolo area near Falama where they engaged the group of 20 in a fierce exchange of fire.

The other militants fled after the police overpowered them.

The terrorists have been calling for withdrawal of Kenya Defence Forces from Somalia.

The troops who are under the Africa Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) have captured several towns that were under the terror group as part of efforts to liberate the country.
