NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 11 – Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has reiterated that he has no preferred candidate within the county and refuted claims that he has been fronting specific individuals.

Speaking in Gatuanyaga in Thika, Kabogo stated that he is impartial, and was hoping for a free fair and democratic nomination process.

“I want to repeat that I do not have a preferred candidate for any seat. I have a candidate next year who is President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy. Those are my candidates. The other candidate, God willing will be me in my county,” he said.

The Kiambu Governor was responding to allegations made by politicians and emphasised the need to unite Kenyans.

He had earlier called on the party to hold fair nominations and expressed confidence that he would clinch the Governor’s seat in his county.

He had also said that he is ready to back whoever wins the gubernatorial race in the county in next year’s General Election.

He encouraged leaders to focus more on the interests of the voters and work towards improving their livelihoods.
