NAIROBI, Kenya, October 28 – Health Principal Secretary Nicholas Muraguri has apologized to the Editors Guild over his comments to a reporter regarding the alleged misappropriation of Sh5 billion at the Ministry.

In his letter of apology, Muraguri described his comments which he made in circumstances around people well known to him as unfortunate and regrettable.

“In the past few days, comments attributed to me have been widely circulated. I would like to state that indeed, many of those comments are mine, made in circumstances around people well known to me,” he stated.

“This is my formal apology to the journalist at Business Daily, the media fraternity, my colleagues in government and the people of Kenya,” he said.

He maintained that the sentiments did not reflect his philosophy or stand as a public servant.”My comments were unfortunate and regrettable.”

The apology was also addressed to the Kenya Union of Journalists and the Business Daily.
