NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 6 – The National Police Service has announced major security changes affecting 11 Officer Commanding Police Divisions (OCPD) in a move meant to enhance security in the country.
Among the officers include Kayole Police boss Ali Nuno, who was moved to Kiganjo Police College as an instructor, a few weeks after he was put on the spot by the Independent Policing Oversight Authority, which accused him of failing to cooperate with its officers.
Nuno was being probed over graft allegations by IPOA.
Also affected include Kiambu OCPD Tom Atuti who has been moved to Mashuru in Kajiado County and will be replaced by Duncan Nguthu.
Others are Samuel Obara (Limuru), Henry Kwame (Nyeri county), Emanuel Rono (Bunyala), Lemmy Njiru (Marakwet East), Edward Wafula (Bahati), Mohamed Bakuli (Isiolo), Joseph Odipo (Londiani) and Jane Gakii to police headquarters.
Several other traffic commanders have also been moved.
