NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 10 – Three nurses and a cleaner from the Kenyatta National Hospital have been charged with the murder of a patient.
The however denied the charge before the High Court but the prosecution has opposed to their release on bond claiming they are likely to interfere with witnesses.
The court has set bail hearing for October 31.
Dozens of nurses camped at the Milimani Law Courts ahead of the prosecution of their colleagues who are accused of killing the patient in 2015.
A decision to charge the three nurses and cleaner was arrived at last week after conclusion of an investigation that pointed to their role because they were on duty at the time.
But the association of nurses has questioned the motive behind charging the nurses, arguing that they are being victimised unfairly.
The cancer patient was bludgeoned to death on his hospital bed in November last year.
