NAIROBI, Kenya, Sep 26 — Two men suspected of being members of terror group ISIS were on Monday arraigned in a Nairobi court and charged with five terrorism related counts.

Abdirahman Idris Hassan alias Zaky Akhi and Salah Mohamed Khalif alias Prince Salahudiin were charged with soliciting for funds to commission terrorist acts and organising meetings in the country in support of terror groups in addition to recruiting Kenyan youths into terrorism and directing the commission of terrorist act in the country.

They however denied the charges before Milimani Chief Magistrate Daniel Ogembo who remanded them pending their bail application on Tuesday.

The prosecution has indicated it will oppose their release on the grounds that they are a flight risk given the stiff penalties they face if convicted.
