, NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 5 – Police have launched a manhunt for four hardcore inmates who escaped from the Kibos Prison in Kisumu Thursday night.

Kisumu County Police chief Joseph Keitany says the four were being held for capital offences.

He says police and prison officers have concentrated the search in nearby sugar plantations where the inmates are believed to be hiding.

Police are using sniffer dogs to comb the plantations surrounding the prison.
