NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 16 – A petition seeking the removal of Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) Chairman Philip Kinisu from office has been tabled in the National Assembly.
This sets the stage for an investigation against him on allegations of conflict of interest at the commission, which is charged with investigating corruption at government agencies.
The petition was filed by a lawyer who wants Kinisu investigated for conflict of interest due to his family company’s involvement in tenders at the National Youth Service and other government agencies.
Kinisu insists he quit the company before he joined EACC and therefore there cannot be conflict of interest.
