NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 25 – Soapy water met the road on Thursday as Christian faithful in Nakuru cleaned the path for the long-bearded Prophet Owuor, famed for his miraculous healing prowess.

The faithful who began arriving in the metropolis for a prayer rally that begins Friday, earlier in the week, created a spectacle when their hired water tankers and with brooms, mops and detergent, set about washing the streets in what has now become par course where the Prophet is scheduled to set foot.

Hoteliers and traders heartily welcomed Prophet Owuor’s visit given the overflow in returns.

Prophet Owuor is scheduled to hold a three day prayer rally in the town starting Friday and going into Sunday at the Menengai Grounds.

Police in the town are on high alert given the high numbers of faithful that have turned out for the prayers.

A 1,200 strong force is expected to provide security for the duration of the prayers but all the same, Nakuru Town West Deputy County Commissioner Elmi Shaffi cautioned the faithful not to be fooled by wolves in sheep’s clothing who may worm their way into their midst and take advantage of their trusting natures by robbing them blind.
