Uhuru, Netanyahu discuss security as Nairobians moan about gridlock

He and Netanyahu sought to place more emphasis on the developmental technological assistance Kenya would receive from Israel.

“You know Israel is a small country, it was founded without any natural resources. The only natural resources we had were our brains and our hearts and we’ve learned to do more with less. We have substantially less water than we had at the founding of Israel but our population has grown ten-fold and our GDP per capita has grown 40 times. But we don’t have a water shortage, we have a water surplus. It’s all because we use technology.”Netanyahu said before he and President Kenyatta ‘flagged-off’ two busloads of Kenyans students who would benefit from half-a-year’s worth of technological training in Israel.

Kenya and Israel have already partnered on the Galana/Kulalu food security irrigation project but it has performed well below expectation.
