NAIROBI, Kenya, June 6 – Truck drivers have made good on their threat to block roads Monday morning in protest to what they say is police harassment and insecurity.
The drivers have already blocked part of Mombasa Road at Mlolongo causing traffic congestion.
Police have cautioned that they will not tolerate any blockades and will arrest any and all long-distance truck drivers who participate in the unlawful activity.
The drivers representatives however insist that they will not be cowed and have blocked the road at Mlolongo and in Migori where traffic has began to build up.
Meanwhile, traffic along Museum Hill is now flowing smoothly after police cleared the road of burning tyres early.
