Supreme Court to deliver landmark ruling on Rawal, Tunoi retirement

Tunoi has on the other hand argued that the matter can be postponed until the vacancy in the Chief Justice’s office is filled.

He had sought to stay in office only until the tribunal probing the allegation that the he took a Sh200 million bribe from Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero completes its work.

Rawal and Tunoi want to retire at 74 which they contend was the retirement age when they took up office prior to the promulgation of the Constitution which sets the retirement age of judges at 70.
