Kuria, Waititu face harsh bail terms as court frees 8 MPs

Following the ruling, the supporters of the lawmakers who had jammed the court room broke into applause and chanted songs of joy to express their jubilation.

After the session, the three CORD leaders addressed the media saying that justice has been served with leader Raila Odinga reiterating that he had forgiven Kuria for any utterances he may have made against him.

Odinga described the ruling a new beginning and emphasised that their renewed zeal to resolve the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) impasse with their Jubilee counterparts.

The CORD leader was accompanied by his Co-Principals Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka who later addressed a huge crowd of supporters who had thronged the Milimani Law Courts.

Security personnel consisting of policemen and GSU officers kept vigil outside the court which had become a no-go zone as supporters of the eight politicians patiently waited to hear the outcome of the petition.
