NAIROBI, Kenya, Jun 7 – Six people including the owner of the building that collapsed in Huruma last month have been charged with 52 counts of manslaughter.

The prosecution has applied to have him remanded in custody until the court secures evidence from witnesses and ensure his security after facing hostility from relatives of the deceased people.

Prosecutor Catherine Mwaniki told the Magistrate Joyce Gandani that the offence the accused are facing persons carries a life sentence on conviction.
