NAIROBI, Kenya, May 20 – A prison warder impersonating the Inspector General of Police on social media was on Thursday arrested in Kisumu.

The man identified as Bevil Ogeda Ouko who is attached to the Kibos main prison had registered a mobile phone number under the name Joseph K. Boinet.

He had also opened a Facebook account under Boinnet’s name and, “has been issuing statements-including about the CORD protests at IEBC offices.”

Ouko would even engage his gullible followers on why CORD protests were illegal.

“They should talk with police peacefully without destroying property,” the impersonator would post.

The suspect is expected to be charged at the Kisumu Law Courts on Friday morning.

It is the second time a person has been arrested FOR impersonating the IG on social media.

The Facebook account has been deactivated.
