NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 23 – Former First Lady Lucy Kibaki is scheduled to receive specialised treatment overseas.
It was understood that the family agreed that Mrs Kibaki flies to London for further treatment after having been in hospital for about a month.
Mrs Kibaki was rushed to Gertrude’s Hospital in March before being moved to the Nairobi Hospital where she was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit.
The former First Lady has been out of the public limelight for about four years now.
In October 2012, Mrs Kibaki broke her long silence when she condemned a terror attack on St Polycarp ACK Church in Nairobi that killed a child and wounded several others.

Her public appearance in 2012 came as a surprise as rumours had spread across the country about her ill health.
Since then, very little has been heard about the First Lady who during her husband’s presidency was actively and controversially vocal.
