Victims Legal Representative, Wilfred Nderitu urged the government to ensure its implementation especially now that the case had come to the tail end.

Attorney General Githu Muigai also announced that the government would in the coming days launch the International Crimes Division (ICD) of the High Court of Kenya to address similar issues as those experienced in 2007/8 and also prevent future violence.

In a majority landmark ruling on Tuesday, judges of the ICC in a majority ruling vacated Ruto’s and Journalist Joshua arap Sang’s charges and discharged them from the six year long process due to lack of evidence.

The decision was however declared a mistrial over political and witness interference in the case which both Ruto and Sang have claimed was wrongfully before the court.
