NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 3- Three Chinese men will Monday be arraigned before the Makadara Law Courts in Nairobi after they were arrested with assorted ivory products and lion teeth while on transit through Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
They were intercepted Saturday night at 10pm while travelling by Kenya Airways flight.
The KWS Canine Unit found the ivory wrapped in cooking foils, then concealed further in condoms.
“The arrest is part of an ongoing joint security operation involving the Kenya Wildlife Service, Kenya Police and Kenya Airports Authority to rid the airport of any wildlife contraband,” KWS Paul Udoto Communication Manager said in a statement.
They were booked at the JKIA Police Station.
The three were travelling from Lubumbashi, Congo to Guanzhou, China.
